LOS ANGELES Scott Anderson, president/CEO of Service World Network (SWAN), made several announcements at the UCLA conference on the development of his company, launched last November.
SWAN a vertically integrated hospitality services company based in Denver is a combination of several existing businesses. Its components include Richfield Hospitality Services (hotel management), Sceptre Hospitality Resources (reservations management), E-Risk Pro (on-line insurance and risk management), E-Purchase (on-line and off-line procurement) and E-Answers [a software Application Services Provider (ASP)].
Together, the companies are meant to provide a complete network of management services, reservation distribution, Internet utilization and in-house technology solutions to hotels.
Recent moves to build SWAN s management team include the appointment of Rick Layton to the role of executive vp of sales and marketing, effective February 8. Layton is currently president/CEO of Atlanta-based Servidyne Systems, which provides guest service software, energy management, engineering and preventive maintenance to hotels and other businesses.
Meanwhile, Gail Wilson is the new vp of E-Risk Pro, an on-line and off-line company providing insurance products and risk-management services to hotels. The company will work with Portland, OR-based Safety Logic to provide its loss-control program over the Internet via an Application Service Provider (ASP) model.
SWAN also signed a multi-year technology services agreement with Dallas-based Unirez, a provider of web-based reservation services and Sceptre Hospitality Resources, which provides representation and reservation services to more than 115 independent hotels and chains under the SWAN umbrella.
