ATLANTA— GetThere, a Sabre company, reported results from its Corporate Travel Benchmark Survey, which said that travel spending is down at least 10% from this time last year. Nearly three-quarters of the companies surveyed, which spend an average of $60 million per year on travel, said that they are saving about 20%, or approximately $100 per trip, using online booking systems due to lower average airfares and lower agency fees. Approximately 45% of the companies surveyed are planning full or partial mandates of their online booking systems this year. On average, 24% of the companies employees have adopted online booking, which they expect to increase to 46% by December of this year.
