LHAVIYANI ATOLL, THE MALDIVES Sun International Hotels, owner and operator of upscale hotels in exotic locations, has inked a deal to manage the new, six-star Kanuhura Sun Resort and Spa located in the Indian Ocean s Maldive Islands.
The resort, which recently became a member of The Leading Small Hotels of the World, offers 100 spacious luxury villas and suites, the Kanuhura spa, and three upscale restaurants. The resort s water villas, constructed on stilts, provide guests with views of the local sea life through an illuminated observation point.
The new resort sits in the Lhaviyani Atoll of the Maldives on its own private island, just 35 minutes by seaplane from Male International Airport in the countrys capital. (5/23/01)
