NEW YORK— Summit Hotels & Resorts has named five hoteliers to its new eight-member advisory board. The board was set up following Summit’s acquisition by Indecorp Corp. The hotelier members roles are to guide Summit on brand issues, such as quality assurance, building hotel revenues and approval of new members. Serving as board chairman is David Colella, managing director and vp of The Colonnade Hotel, Boston, MA. The four other hoteliers elected to the advisory board are: Luz Maria Calvo, general manager, Los Tajibos Hotel & Convention Center, Santa Cruz, Bolivia; Frank Clovyn, general manager, The Landmark Bangkok, Thailand; Lorenzo Cattaneo, general manager, Hotel Excelsior, Munich, Germany; and Lars Hansen, general manager, Savoy Hotel, Madeira. The board also has three non-hotelier representatives: Summits managing director Geoff Andrew, and Indecorp Corp.’s chairman Peter Aeby and president/CEO Peter Cass.
