ATLANTA— Suburban Lodges of America has opened two franchised Suburban Lodge hotels, in Austin, TX and Chesapeake, VA. These two latest openings increased to 61 the number of franchised Suburban Lodge hotels. On August 10, Atlanta-based SLD Properties opened its seventh Suburban Lodge hotel, a 137-room interior corridor property in Austin. The hotel, which features fully-equipped kitchens, electronic keyless entry and voice mail and data ports in every room, is located three miles from historic Sixth Street and five miles from the University of Texas campus and downtown Austin. The hotels interior design and exterior stonework were customized to complement the Austin market. On August 20, new Suburban franchisee The Barot Group opened its first Suburban Lodge hotel, a 91-room interior corridor property located in northwest Chesapeake, VA. Based on the brands new Extel 2001 prototype design, the hotel has a brick and stucco exterior, drive-under porte cochere and a customized interior design scheme. All rooms include electronic keyless entry and fully equipped kitchens.
