PARSIPPANY, NJ A new study of timeshare owners conducted by Ragatz Associates, a unit of Resort Condominiums International, LLC (RCI), showed that members of RCI Points are using their points to exchange more frequently and believe RCI Points provides greater value than traditional exchange.

The Ragatz study, entitled “RCI Points: A Case Study of Two Affiliated Resorts,” examined consumer experiences with the new program with RCI members from two resorts, Silver Springs Resort in Orlando and Meadow Lake Resort in Columbia Falls, MT. Some of the findings include:

Points members are utilizing their benefits more often, an average of one transaction every four months, compared to traditional weeks members who averaged one transaction every 10 months.

76% of these RCI Points members reported booking a resort stay through the RCI program, and 83% of these members reported that making the transaction was “very easy” or “easy.”

When asked if they were able to book their requested time at the resort, 86% indicated “yes.” Of all respondents, 88% indicated they were “very satisfied” or “satisfied” with their resort booking.

When asked about the value of RCI Points compared to traditional weeks exchange, 76% indicated RCI Points provides “greater value.”

Respondents were asked, “In hindsight, would you choose the RCI Points program again?” 89% replied “yes.” (5/18/01)
