SALT LAKE CITY— Stephen Cobb has been appointed to the newly created position of chief security executive at STSN, a provider of managed broadband services for business travelers to hotels and conference centers. Cobb will be responsible for leading education and awareness programs to help companies understand the strategies that can protect sensitive corporate data and mitigate security risks for their mobile workforce. In addition, he will assist hotel owners, management groups and conference planners with managing data theft risks and meeting the security needs of business guests and conference attendees. STSN’s new chief security executive has 20 years of security and technology experience. Prior to joining STSN, he co-founded ePrivacy Group and helped to develop anti-spam technology now in use at numerous Internet service providers and Fortune 1000 companies. In 1995, he was one of the first 10 employees of the National Computer Security Association (NCSA), where he helped develop the NCSA Firewall Policy Guide.
