NEW YORK— Smith Travel Research (STR) has launched DaySTAR Plus, a new information source designed to track and report daily customer and revenue segment performance data for the U.S. lodging industry. DaySTAR Plus was created to provide hotel management the ability to benchmark key hotel customer and revenue segment operating performance versus competition on a daily basis. Along with daily occupancy and average room rates, DaySTAR Plus will provide management with detailed statistics for key customer segments— transient, group, contract— and revenue segments— room, food and beverage, and total revenue. DaySTAR Plus is an enhancement to the DaySTAR program, which currently has over 17,000 participating properties.
