STR Gives Preliminary June Stats

NEW YORK— Smith Travel Research (STR) reported preliminary U.S. lodging industry performance for the first half of June 2001, suggesting that industry occupancy was down 4%-5% compared to last year. RevPar was down 3%- 4% in the first 16 days of June 2001 versus prior year, said STR.
