KIERLAND, AZ—Construction will soon begin on Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwides newest vacation ownership resort, The Westin Kierland Villas located here. The resort is located on 10 acres within this 730-acre master-planned community. The development will mark the company’s first Westin Vacation Ownership Resort in Arizona and third property overall in the state. The first phase of the resort will include 51 two-bedroom villas. Upon completion, there will be 158 in total. Pending receipt of the projects approval by the Arizona Department of Real Estate, pre-sale of the villas will begin in January with prices ranging from the mid-teens to the mid-twenties for a deeded one week vacation ownership interest in the resort. The first phase is scheduled to open in mid-2004. Each two-bedroom villa will feature fully-equipped kitchens, separate living rooms and dining rooms for family and guest use, and a master bedroom with a whirlpool tub and the Heavenly Bed. The amenities package is made up of a family-oriented pool with water slide, cabanas and an outdoor fireplace. In addition, there will be an adult-only pool as well as a childrens pool. Gas barbeque grills, separate family and adult spas, a fitness center and a poolside pavilion will also be onsite.
