STAMFORD, CT—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has signed an agreement with Phoenix Enterprises, owner of Inversiones Hoteleras La Quinta S.L.U., for The Westin La Quinta Golf & Spa Resort in Benahavis, Spain, a hotel conversion slated to open in March 2016. The property deal marks the return of the Westin flag to the Andalusian resort.

The Westin La Quinta Golf & Spa Resort will feature 172 guestrooms, including five suites and one Presidential Suite. Signature Westin services and amenities offered will include the Heavenly Bed, Heavenly Bath and WestinWORKOUT, along with an outdoor pool and access to a 16,146-sq.-ft. Heavenly Spa.
The resort also includes more than 8,600 sq. ft. of event space, including a ballroom, three meeting rooms, and a 24-hour business center.
The Westin La Quinta Golf & Spa Resort will also include a 27-hole Championship course of breathtaking fairways designed by Manuel Piñero, as well as a driving range, putting green and Club House with a bar and a restaurant.

The resort, located in the heart of the region’s golf valley, is also close to the Mediterranean coastline and the “Golden Mile” of nightclubs, upmarket boutiques and bars. Nearby attractions include the remains of a ninth-century Arab fortress, the Puerto Banús marina and Encarnation’s Church.
The property is less than a 45-minute drive from Malaga International Airport, which is accessible from a toll highway that links Malaga with Marbella.
Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa will be the 18th Westin hotel in Europe.
