WHITE PLAINS, NY—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will develop three new hotels in Saudi Arabia under its Four Points by Sheraton and Aloft brands as part of a long-term management agreement with the Ahokair Group. The new hotels will include the 300-room Four Points by Sheraton Mall of Arabia in Jeddah, which is set to open in 2010; the 236-room Four Points by Sheraton Dhahran, scheduled to open in 2011; and the 225-room Aloft Riyadh, also slated for a 2011 opening. The properties will bring Starwoods total of hotels in Saudi Arabia to 13. On a broader scale, the company plans to double its portfolio in Europe, Africa and the Middle East by 2013.
