WHITE PLAINS, NY— Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has signed a franchise agreement with Atlantica Hotels International for the operation of a new property in Curitiba, located in southeastern Brazil. The Four Points Hotel Curitiba is now open, and includes 176 guestrooms featuring broadband Internet connections, along with a Mediterranean restaurant, meeting facilities to accommodate up to 750 guests, a business center, and indoor swimming pool. The hotel is located a short distance from the downtown area and is the first internationally flagged hotel to enter the city of Curitiba, which is known for its automobile production industry. The hotel also represents Starwoods first franchised property and first Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Brazil. Starwood and Atlantica are working toward a broader agreement to include additional franchises for apart-hotels in Brazil to be operated primarily under the Four Points by Sheraton brand.
