WHITE PLAINS, NY— Starwood Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with Grupo Corporative Javer to operate the first Four Points by Sheraton in Mexico. The 120-unit hotel, which is slated to open in Nuevo Leon in the fall of 2002, is currently under design. Starwood will also begin operating the Four Points by Sheraton Monclova next July. The company said it has plans to grow its Latin American portfolio with properties in Curitiba, Brazil; Santiago, Chile; Medellin, Clolmbua; Quito and Guayaquil, Ecuador. In addition, the company plans to add another six properties, which are currently under development, in Costa Rica, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina.
