TUCUMAN, ARGENTINA—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has opened the Sheraton Tucuman Hotel in Argentina, which offers all of Sheraton brand’s signature amenities and services, according to the company. The property is owned by Argentine company Sol del NOA S.A. and is operated by Starwood.
“Sheraton is an icon in Latin America having been the first international hotel brand to be established in major cities, including Buenos Aires, Santiago and Lima. Today, Latin America boasts several of the world’s fastest growing economies and is one of the most promising for the Sheraton brand,” Hoyt Harper, global brand leader for Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement. “Sheraton continues to be one of the most sought-after hotel brands in Latin America and around the world and as a result, we are experiencing record-breaking growth with plans to open our 500th Sheraton hotel by 2015.”
Sheraton Tucuman is the ninth Sheraton branded hotel in the country, and the tenth hotel under a Starwood brand in the country. The hotel offers 124 guestrooms, including six Executive Suites and a Presidential Suite. The Sheraton Club Lounge is located on the top floor, and has a panoramic view of the park and the mountain landscape.
With more than 28,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, Sheraton Tucuman will feature one of the largest convention centers in the region, according to Starwood. Meeting areas include five ballrooms with the largest measuring more than 10,800 sq. ft. and a poolside terrace that spans more than 9,500 sq. ft.
Sheraton Tucuman’s expansive Spa, covering more than 8,600 sq. ft., will provide a full range of regional therapies. The hotel also offers Sheraton Fitness by Programmed Core Performance, the brand’s revolutionary health and fitness program, which offers guests the possibility of working out and eating healthy even while traveling.
“This project is part of the tourism and hotel sector development plan that Sol del NOA has been implementing in Argentina and in the region. Through this partnership with Starwood, Tucuman will now count with the world-class level of services that only an international chain like Sheraton can guarantee, establishing itself as the gateway to the entire north west of Argentina,” Gustavo Cinosi, president of Sol del NOA, said in a statement.
