ST. LOUIS— Hotels here recently began adding an energy surcharge, as have hotels across the nation since the start of the California energy crisis. Marriott’s full-service hotels here implemented a $3 per night surcharge, while the chain’s other properties in the area added a $1.50 per night fee. The St. Louis Airport Hilton added a $2.80 per night fee in April, while the Holiday Inn Airport North added a $2 per night surcharge, also in April. Hotels such as the Adam’s Mark and the Millennium Hotel have opted not to add a surcharge, though the Radisson Hotel and Suites downtown is anticipating adding a surcharge within a month.
