PALM DESERT, CA—The Coachella Valley has long been a center for finding inner peace in a tranquil desert setting. Hotel Paseo is home to Spa La Lé, a wellness oasis that encourages guests to “find their path” both physically and mentally.
The boutique spa offers unique treatments like the 24K gold facial, along with activity rooms that help guests rest their minds, as well as a spa boutique with products available for purchase.
“Our boutique spa is all about creating an experience that is personalized to your body and mind needs. We don’t define ‘wellness’ as a general term; rather, we figure out what your definition of wellness is and build an experience (service bundle) around that,” said Stella Chung, director of the spa. “We hope that once you’ve completed your services with us, you leave feeling rebalanced and completely recharged.”
While the 24K gold facial may be the most opulent of the services offered at Spa Le Lé—a 110-minute anti-aging treatment that brightens, firms and soothes skin using 24-karat gold—the spa has treatments for all skin types and conditions. Spa La Lé offers a hydrating rose facial, a variety of massages in private poolside cabanas, nail services, as well as La Lé Golden Tao, which includes three body services, including a scrub, wrap and custom massage, among others.
Along with these services focusing on relaxing the body, Spa La Lé offers ways to relax the mind as well.
“We created an indoor oasis environment. In our discovery/meditation room, you have the option to just relax in our comfortable lounge chairs, or we have set up a few areas of ‘activities’ where you can completely get your mind off of something you are stressed or worried about. For example, some people cannot relax in the ‘silent’ or ‘do nothing’ mode,” Chung said.
These activities include a love letter writing station, along with a record player station and book area where guests can catch up on reading the classics.
“It’s all about the mind. Your body cannot physically relax if your mind is occupied,” Chung said. “You could not be doing anything physically and be stressed, that’s how strong our minds are, so it’s important to start the de-stress process before going into your service to physically relax.”
Chung explains that every guest or group that comes to the spa has different reasons for visiting. For some, it’s for a personal relaxation experience and for others, it’s a ladies trip or 40-person corporate event. No matter what the trip entails, however, each guest has the opportunity to leave feeling like a better version of themselves.
“Everyone has a different goal for why they are here, so we are not here to tell you what your needs are, but to give you options,” Chung said. “So, by ‘finding your path’ during your stay, whatever that may be (relaxation, stress-relief trip or just simply to have fun), we want you to find that path and get the optimal result during your stay.”
