BEE CAVE, TX— Sonesta will add its third Texas hotel to its growing portfolio with Sonesta Bee Cave Austin, a new property planned for an opening in spring.
Sonesta Bee Cave Austin is located 14 miles west of downtown Austin, in the Hill Country Galleria complex, a 1.3-million-sq.-ft. lifestyle center. The hotel will offer 195 guestrooms, including 12 suites, each overlooking the swimming pool and courtyard or the nearby Hill Country.
To lead the new property team, Sonesta has named John Dallas, a 25-year hotel industry veteran, as general manager. In previous positions, John worked for Marriott International, Interstate Hotels and Resorts, White Lodging Services, McKibbon Hotel Management and JHM Hotels.
“We are excited to be one step nearer to our goal of providing the local area with a first-rate hotel experience. Bringing John on board assures both a continued close relationship with the Bee Cave and greater Austin community and exemplary leadership for the new property,” stated Adrian Overstreet, managing member of the company that owns the Galleria and is developing the hotel.
Amenities and features of Sonesta Bee Cave Austin will include a central courtyard with an outdoor swimming pool and sun deck, fitness center, 24-hour business center and complimentary WiFi. Nearby activities include a 2.3-mile hiking and biking trail, community special events, concerts and shows, and more than 100 stores and restaurants within walking distance. Lake Travis, a reservoir on the Colorado River, is located nearby. Outdoor recreation, such as boating, swimming, fishing, specialty dining and zip lining, is available.
According to the company, the lake was a key inspiration to the color palette and design throughout Sonesta Bee Cave Austin, influencing the use of natural rough woods, stone and textural materials throughout the hotel.
A glass-enclosed lounge and rooftop bar provide Hill Country views as well as on-site dining.
Sonesta Bee Cave Austin will offer 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting space catering to social and business gatherings. The grand ballroom is divisible into five sections and two additional meeting rooms, an executive boardroom and a pre-function area overlooking the pool and courtyard provide options for smaller get-togethers.
The hotel, which broke ground in February, will offer access to Highway 620, Highway 71 and Bee Cave Road, 20 miles from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
