MIAMI BEACH, FL—The Nobu Hotel is currently in its soft opening phase here. The hotel will officially launch in January 2017, following a multimillion-dollar renovation and restoration of the 1950s Morris Lapidus property.
The oceanfront location offers views of the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay, with a design palette crafted by David Rockwell that draws upon raw, natural forms and layers of materials such as walnut, bronze, washi paper, linen and leather to create a contemporary environment.
Accommodations include luxury suites with multiple bedrooms, while 70,000 sq. ft. of spaces are available for events. Amenities include private check-in, a Nobu private pool, preferential reservations at the Nobu Restaurant, Nobu signature spa treatments by ESPA-trained therapists, as well as an indoor fitness space with the new Artis line from Technogym.
There is also artwork curated for the hotel by collector Peter Brant from the Brant Foundation Art Study Center that includes pieces from Richard Prince, Julian Schnabel, Rob Pruitt, Nate Lowman, Josh Smith, Enoc Perez and Kenny Sharf, among others.
The Nobu Restaurant and Bar is the first East Coast venue for the Malibu Farm restaurant, according to the brand. Malibu Farm uses organic and local produce, and offers an exclusive in-room dining menu, available only to Nobu Hotel guests.
