HENDERSONVILLE, TN According to Smith Travel Research s preliminary August 2000 figures for the U.S. lodging industry, occupancy was on the rise in August after a slight decline in July. August RevPAR growth continued at a good pace and is expected to be in the 6% to 7%-range when final numbers are reported. The data suggests that performance in the last half of August was much stronger than early in the month. (9/15/00)
