DALLAS— Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has launched its second in a series of four exclusive holiday auctions being offered on the consortiums website, www.SLH.com. Designed by SLH to re-excite interest in dream holidays after the September 11th tragedy, the two-week “Bid for the World” auctions will run consecutively until January 9, 2002, with all proceeds going to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The auction launched on November 8th, with travel package values averaging at just over $4,000, but minimum bids being set as low as $400. Having already raised over $26,000 in the first auction, the second includes a number of two- to six-night luxury stays at some of the worlds best small hotels with VIP extras like presidential suites and personally guided sightseeing tours.
