Six Continents Appoints New Chief Procurement Officer

ATLANTA— Six Continents Hotels has named Joseph Yacura the new Chief Procurement Officer for the Americas region. Yacura will be responsible for strategic planning, policy development, deployment and operational leadership for the supply chain and procurement functions for the Americas region. He will also be responsible for the purchasing of all materials, products and services for the company’s managed hotels, headquarters and ancillary facilities. Yacura’s hiring continues a string of key additions to Six Continents Hotels’ management team as the global hotel group works to continually strengthen top-line performance. Yacura will report to John Sweetwood, president/Americas, Six Continents Hotels. Prior to joining Six Continents Hotels, Yacura was a consultant for several organizations and held senior management positions at IBM, Pacific Bell and American Express. He is actively involved with the procurement profession and serves as the chairman of the Center for Advanced Purchasing studies.
