KAILUA KONA, HI— The 521-room Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa has opened following a $70-million two-year renovation.The resort is owned by Koa Hotel, LLC and Kamehameha Schools and is managed by Sheraton Hotels & Resorts. The resort offers a wide selection of indoor and outdoor dining options including Kai, a fine dining restaurant serving Asian cuisine with a backdrop of bay views. Other areas of the 22-acre resort include Manta Ray Super Slide & Pool, covering nearly one-third acre meandering from interior atrium to ocean side exterior. The resort features a fitness center and Hoola Spa which focuses on island-inspired treatments. Situated on an ancient lava flow on Keauhou Bay and footsteps from the oceans edge, the resort is located just south of Kailua-Kona. It is the first hotel to open on Hawaiis Big Island in nearly ten years. Along with its spacious guestrooms and suites featuring Sheratons newly-introduced signature Sweet Sleeper Beds, rooms also include lanais (balconies), in-room coffee maker and 100 percent Kona Coffee, wireless Internet access throughout the resort and the many amenities associated with the upscale Sheraton brand. The Keauhou Conference Center, located adjacent to the resort, has 36,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting, function and exhibit space and offers the largest ballroom on the Kona Coast. The resort can easily accommodate groups from 20 to more than 1,000.
