DALLAS— Rosewood Hotels & Resorts announced the appointment of Karen Shawn as director for The Spa at Little Dix Bay, which will open in November 2002. The spa will be located on a precipice at Little Dix Bay resort, British Virgin Gorda, with views of the Caribbean and neighboring islands. In her new post, Shawn will oversee development of the spa program including the creation of an indigenous spa treatment menu, incorporating local plants and other natural elements. Previously, Shawn worked for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts as a spa and recreation manager. In this role, she supervised the construction and opening of a spa, developed an extensive spa treatment menu, activities guide, and recreational program and was responsible for day-to-day management. Rosewood Hotels & Resorts manages upscale properties around the globe including The Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas, The Carlyle in New York City, Las Ventanas al Paraiso in Los Cabos, Mexico, and Badrutt’s Palace in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
