NEW YORK— Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is to open a hotel in the business district of Fuzhou on China’s southeast coast. The $70 million hotel, which will overlook the main Wuyi Square, will feature 416 rooms, several restaurants, a business center, shopping arcade and health club. The restaurants will include a rooftop bar and restaurant on the 26th floor, an international cafe, a lobby lounge and a deli. The health club will feature a gym, spa, sauna, Jacuzzi and swimming pool. Tennis courts will also be offered. For business travelers, the hotel, which will open in early 2004, will have three floors of Horizon Club rooms, with special features and privileges. Shangri-La, which has 38 hotels in China, will open hotels in Zhongshan and Zhengzhou in July 2003.
