CHAMPION, PA— In the spirit of the upcoming Winter Olympics, Seven Springs Mountain Resort and Convention Center here will team with local media outlet WTAE-TV on Feb. 2 to kick off Winterfest 2002 to raise funds for area charity Project Bundle-Up, and create greater awareness of the property. The week-long event will feature competitive snow tubing races, ski races for all ages and ability levels, speed skiing, freestyle snowboarding, and other events as well as Indoor kids activities and games for adults. In addition, a concert by 1970s band “America” will be held Feb. 7; Celebrity Olympics will be held Feb. 9 outside the resort’s ski lodge. WTAE personalities, several of football’s Pittsburgh Steelers and other local stars will compete.
