SANTA YNEZ, CA— HOTEL BUSINESS® has learned the Santa Ynez Inn here will hold its grand opening Monday, October 1, followed by several days of activities that will culminate in a fundraising fete. According to Douglas Ziegler, principal of Z Bar, Inc., owner/operator of the $2 million property, the formal 2 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony will be followed that day by guided tours of the 14-room luxury hotel, located at 3627 Sagunto St. “We are very excited to be opening the first hotel built in the Santa Barbara County wine country since 1985— and the first to offer lodging in the historic town of Santa Ynez since the College Hotel burned down in 1935,” said Ziegler. The two-story Victorian-style hotel features 19th century architecture. Tours of the Inn will be repeated through Thursday, October 4. That night, a reception to benefit the Santa Ynez Valley Historical Society will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., and will be open to the public via reserved tickets at $30 each. The fundraiser will include wine tasting, hors doeuvre, guided tours and live entertainment. Said general manager John Martino: “Our entire staff is committed to providing outstanding hospitality and service in the wine country. We look forward to welcoming one and all during our grand opening week and beyond.” Rates are expected to range from $195-$395 per room, single or double occupancy and include afternoon tea, evening wine & hors doeuvre and a full gourmet breakfast. Most rooms have a balcony or patio, gas fireplace, double steam shower and whirlpool tub. The Inn also features a fitness facility with sauna, parlor and library meeting rooms, full-service kitchen, catering facilities, outdoor heated whirlpool and sundeck, as well as extensive gardens.
