SAN FRANCISCO— A boycott campaign against 14 hotels here that locked out unionized workers in October is now being escalated by hotel workers, according to a published report. The hotels in question originally locked out the workers in response to a strike. The workers, which belong to Unite Here Local 2, now plan on picketing outside the Westin St. Francis hotel in Union Square and encouraging visitors to honor the boycott. The picketing will take place following a scheduled negotiation session on Monday afternoon. Monday’s negotiations will be the first to take place since a 60-day cooling-off period ended on Jan. 24.
