SAN ANTONIO, TX–Woodbine Development Corp. is completing a $35 million expansion of the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa here, focusing on the property’s function space.
The project, to be completed this summer, roughly doubles the indoor function space, triples the pre-function space and adds new outdoor function space. A highlight of this aspect of the work is a new 20,000 sq. ft. ballroom that will be divisible into eight breakout rooms, each with its own entrance.
The focus on function space is in response to requests from the property’s existing group customers. According to Woodbine president & CEO John Field Scovell, the resort up to now hasn’t been able to provide the amount of high quality function space its regular group customers have required.
In addition, the property upgrades include improvements to the resort’s 500 guestrooms and landscaping. Also included is an expansion of the resort’s water park, which has proven especially popular with families.
