BOSTON? The Samoset Resort in Rockport, ME was recently acquired by Samorock, an entity affiliated with Del Ray Beach, FL-based Ocean Properties, from Samoset Resort Investors, a private investment group, for an undisclosed price. The sale, which was handled by Insignia/ESG Hotel Partners, was reportedly the largest hospitality real estate transaction ever completed in the state of Maine. The Samoset, one of New England?s premier coastal resorts, is an all-season destination resort located on nearly 220 acres overlooking Penobscot Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The property includes a full-service 150-room hotel; the Flume Cottage, a stand-alone unit positioned on a cliff overlooking the ocean; 22,000 square feet of conference facilities; an 18-hole championship golf course; Samoset Timeshare Estates, which is comprised of 72 units; and Samoset Village with 37 condominiums. Samorock plans to renovate and expand the resort?s guestroom facilities in order to match the standards level of its other resort, the Hilton Sand Key in Key West, FL.
