FORT WORTH, TX Sabre Holdings Corp. s first quarter financial results showed diluted earnings per share growth of 10.3% and continued strong revenue growth for the company.
Total revenues for the first quarter 2001 were $755 million, up 17% from $645 million in the first quarter of 2000, primarily due to growth in GetThere and Travelocity.com. Revenues from continuing operations were $573 million, up 19.7% from last year. Revenues from discontinued operations were $181 million, up 9.4% from the year-ago quarter.
Total worldwide travel bookings processed through the Sabre s GDS were 125.5 million for the quarter, an increase of 0.8% over the same period last year.
The company expects year over year revenue growth in the second quarter of 2001 to be in the high teens and earnings growth for that period to be in the range of 10 to 13%. For the year, the company anticipates revenue and earnings growth of greater than 20%. (4/19/01)
