S.D. Malkin Properties Sells Hilton San Diego Gaslamp To LaSalle

SAN DIEGO— LaSalle Hotel Properties has acquired the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter Hotel here for $85 million. The seller was S.D. Malkin Properties, Inc., which was represented by Sonnenblick-Goldman Company in the deal. As part of the transaction, LaSalle also received a subterranean parking facility and the Artesia Day Spa, which is a leased facility. However, S.D. Malkin will maintain its ownership of an 18,500-sf ground floor retail condominium at the property. The five-year-old hotel has 282 rooms and a section that features 30 loft-style rooms and 17,000 sf of interior and exterior function space.
