Rocco Forte Hotels Sets Rumors Straight

LONDON— Rocco Forte Hotels appears to have finally laid to rest rumors reported last November that it was to sell its 132-room St Davids Hotel and Spa in Cardiff, U.K. by investing £2 million (US$2.9 million) in the expansion of the conference space. The hotel can now accommodate up to 400 delegates. The company, although admitting that business at the hotel was slower than had first been anticipated since the hotels opening in January 1999, reiterated that no sale was being considered, after the rumors of five months ago stated that the hotel would be sold to finance the purchase of one in New York.
