SAN JOSE, CA The 261-room Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, complete with day spa and two 18-hole golf courses is scheduled to open here in March. The new $100 million hotel is located in an area where the states Coastal Commission has traditionally forbidden any construction, even of single-family homes.
Industry experts say the unique character of the 19th-century seaside lodge-styled resort will make it one of the most lucrative hotels in the world. It will likely draw clients that would have stayed at other luxury resorts in the state. (1/9/01)
