NAPLES, FL— The 295-room Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort has officially opened for business here in this southwestern Florida locale. Owned by Host Marriott Corp. and operated by The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co., the new resort/recreation facility was developed at a cost of some $85 million. Including land cost, that tab is pushed up to the $100-million mark. Situated some eight miles from Naples Airport, the sprawling property boasts the Rick Smith Golf Academy, a 27-hole Greg Norman-designed Tiburon Golf Course, four tennis courts, bicycle and running trails, and a 3,000-square-foot fitness center.
