BRUSSELS— Rezidor SAS has inked agreements for two new resorts in Europe; the Radisson SAS Resort in Sylt, Germany, and the Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort in Malta. Both resorts are planned to open by mid-2005. Sylt is Germany’s most northernmost island and a popular seaside resort. The Radisson SAS Resort will be developed in the city of List, in the northern part of the island. All 184 rooms, including 24 junior suites and 24 suites, will have views of the North Sea. A Thalasso Therapy Wellness Center will be connected to the main building and the resort will also offer an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, a wine bar, approximately 2,300 square feet of meeting and conference facilities and parking. The 300-room, five-star Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort on Malta is currently under construction and is situated on the cliffs overlooking Golden Bay. The resort will offer three restaurants, a cocktail bar, two poolside bars, several lounges, a ballroom, conference facilities, a business center and a nightclub. Leisure facilities will include an outdoor pool complex, an indoor pool with Jacuzzi, a gymnasium, a spa and wellness center, tennis courts, a full range of water sports and a private beach. The development of these two resorts is in line with Rezidor SAS’ goal to operate 700 hotels by 2012. Rezidor SAS currently operates resorts in Egypt, Germany, Northern Ireland, Malta, Norway and the United Arab Emirates and will soon open the Radisson SAS Birdland Resort & Spa in Bük, Hungary. There are another four resorts under development in Al Quseir and Hurghada, Egypt; Cavan, Ireland and Mijas, Spain.
