LOS ANGELES— The Century Plaza Hotel & Spa, a Westin Hotel, has named William A. Hall general manager. Hall began his career at the Sir Francis Drake in San Francisco, and helped open the Century Plaza in 1966. Most recently, he served as svp, managing director of resort operations at The Cloister Hotel and Beach Club in Sea Island, GA, where he oversaw a $300 million renovation of the hotel’s guestrooms, suites and public areas. Prior to that, Hall spent 15 years with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, during which time he served as GM of the company’s Naples, FL; Pasadena, CA and Laguna Nigel, CA properties. The 724-room Century Plaza last year completed a $70 million renovation, which repositioned it as an “urban resort” with a 35,000 square-foot, full-service spa.
