WASHINGTON, DC— Marriott International and Leisure Sports said their 175-room Renaissance ClubSport is scheduled to open next month in Walnut Creek, CA. The hotel is the brands first property in conjunction with ClubSport and is owned by W.C. Walnut Creek L.L.C. and managed by Leisure Sports. The Renaissance ClubSport is designed to be a world-class sports and fitness resort, said Marriott. A sports club features 12,000 square feet of cardiovascular, circuit and free weight equipment, an NCAA-regulation gymnasium, basketball volleyball, group exercise studios, racquetball and squash courts, and fully appointed locker rooms. An outdoor aquatic area offers three swimming pools, a whirlpool, bocce courts and garden patio area for special events. Weekly group exercise classes include step, cycling, yoga, Pilates, tai chi and kickboxing. A 7,000-square-foot child care center has supervised childcare, fitness and sporting activities, arts and crafts and other educational programs. A 3,000-square-foot full-service day spa and salon is also available. The hotel has 4,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including the 2,000-square-foot Renaissance Room, divisible into three sections. Bathrooms in guestrooms feature oversized bathtubs. In-room amenities include two-line speakerphones, a cordless phone and free high-speed Internet access.
