CONVINGTON, KY— Eagle Hospitality Properties Trust Inc., a real estate investment trust, filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to raise as much as $240 million in an initial public offering. A.G. Edwards will underwrite the IPO, the company said in a preliminary offering document. It did not disclose how many shares it plans to sell or indicate a price. The company, which invests in first-class hotels, has applied to list its common stock on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol EHP. Eagle said it plans to use the proceeds to pay its operating partnerships in exchange for operating partnership units. The partnership will use the money to buy hotels and pay outstanding mortgage debt, according to the filing.
