Regent Rolls Out Universal Tollfree Res Number

MINNEAPOLIS— Regent International Hotels, part of Carlson Hospitality Worldwide here, has rolled out a universal reservations telephone number that can be accessed anywhere in the world. The new number— 800-0888-8880— is designed to (eventually) eliminate country-specific tollfree numbers. It was noted that Regent will continue to use existing country-specific tollfree numbers in addition to the new Universal International Freephone Number (UIFN) while the service is being established, an implementation process that so far encompasses 26 (primarily Western Europe and Asian) countries. Users will need to dial the international dialing code for the country from which they are calling. Regent International’s new UIFN is not yet in place in the U.S.
