NATIONAL REPORT—Across the U.S., hotel brands are sprucing up their offerings to attract today’s modern traveler. Here’s a look at renovated properties:
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ft. Lauderdale/Plantation
Waramaug Hospitality completed the $2 million renovation of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ft. Lauderdale/Plantation, focusing on guestrooms, public areas and meeting rooms.
Guestrooms received new carpet and window sheers. There is an updated Great Room with an enclosed buffet separating the breakfast area to meet the new IHG Formula Blue standards.
Public spaces received new carpet, lighting, vinyl and a new color scheme along with upgraded bathrooms. New softgoods and banquet chairs were upgraded in the meeting rooms. Exterior improvements included a new color scheme along with redone porte-cochere and landscaping. The Litt Group oversaw the renovation process.
Courtyard by Marriott Abilene Southwest/Abilene Mall South
MCR completed the renovation of the Courtyard by Marriott Abilene Southwest/Abilene Mall South, a 100-room select-service hotel located in Abilene, TX.
Design elements include new furniture, carpeting, vinyl and decor throughout the lobby, guestrooms and business center. In addition, the fitness center was expanded, a new fire pit was added to the exterior courtyard and landscaping around the property was upgraded.
Sun Valley Inn
In Idaho, the Sun Valley Resort has completed its current phase of renovations including new culinary concepts and improvements to the Sun Valley Inn, which enhance the guest experience through modern updates, attention to detail, and a refreshed look and feel.
The pinnacle of the renovations is the Village Station, an all-new, family-friendly restaurant with a full-service bar, pizza, sandwiches, salads, and four large-screen televisions.
The Ram, a modern steakhouse offering an upscale menu with locally sourced ingredients, has undergone a complete remodel featuring an exhibition kitchen, nightly wine specials, and an updated menu.
Another aspect of the renovation includes the first 25 of 105 rooms, adding new carpeting, linens, mattresses, bathrooms, energy-efficient windows, 55-in. screen televisions, and enhanced wireless internet.
