LAS VEGAS During a Sleep Inns brand session at the Choice Hotels International conference here, Larry Kingsbury, who heads up the signage team, spoke about the brand s new re-imaging program (a touchy subject of late see “Rift Over Choice Re-Imaging Program”).
He said the new Sleep logos “are reflective of what was intended for the brand.” The new signs will start being manufactured by the end of this week, he said, and will be put up by the end of May.
Kingsbury noted several endorsed vendors present at the conference that franchisees may choose from to provide the new signage.
Meanwhile, Chris Burr, director of emerging brands, noted that the new signs and logo will help increase brand awareness. As such, the move will help Choice grow the number of properties in Sleep s portfolio from 274 operating hotels to 600 properties open by the end of 2003, he said. (5/1/01) Diana M. Rodriguez
