WASHINGTON, D.C.— Ramada International Hotels & Resorts opened its first hotel in Northern Ireland, the 120-room Ramada Hotel Shaws Bridge Belfast, under a franchise agreement with Andras House Ltd., Ramada International’s exclusive developer in Northern Ireland. The property is located at Shaws Bridge in Belfast, three miles south of the city center and only a few miles from the airport. The general manager is Sean Murray, who has spent the past 16 years with Ritz- Carlton hotels in Sydney; Harbor Plaza, Hong Kong; and most recently the new five-star Forte hotel, the Lowry Manchester, in England. The hotel has an a la carte restaurant, a lounge bar, a fitness center, and a grand ballroom that seats 700 for dinner or 1,000 theater style.
