DURHAM – The Holiday Inn Raleigh-Durham Airport will reportedly become a Hilton hotel later this year. A multimillion-dollar renovation will soon begin at the 249-room property. The upgrade will double the hotels meeting space to 10,000 square feet and refurbish the guestrooms and lobby, reported John Belden, executive vp of business development for Davidson Hotel Co., operator of the hotel. Davidsons president, Wilton D. Hill, is the hotels majority owner through a separate company called DHG Raleigh. Another property in the respective Hill and Davidson portfolio is making a similar switch to the Hilton brand after a $12 million renovation. The 408-room Adams Mark Hotel in Memphis is set to become the Memphis Hilton in April.
