NEW YORK At an event held here on April 15, Kurt Ritter, president/CEO of Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, announced the opening of the 320-room Radisson SAS Golden Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
The property is part of a major expansion plan for Radisson SAS, which includes adding 27 hotels, in six countries, to the brand s portfolio within the next three years.
In the pipeline for Radisson SAS is development of three more hotels in Egypt, eight in Germany, one in Lebanon, one in Luxemburg, two hotels in Norway, four in Poland, one in Russia, one in Slovakia, one in Spain, one in Turkey, one in the Ukraine, and two properties in the U.K. All are slated to open by 2004.
The 420-room Radisson SAS Hotel planned for Frankfurt, Germany will be one of the brand s most dramatic hotels, according to Ritter. The property, which is scheduled to open in 2004, features futuristic architecture designed with metallic materials.
In addition, the 429-room Radisson SAS Hotel planned for Berlin in 2003, will also have some unique elements, including an 80- meter aquarium located within the hotel that will be one of the largest aquariums in Europe.
