SHERMAN OAKS, CA—The Valley Radisson Hotel here has been converted into the Courtyard by Marriott—Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley following an $11-million renovation. The renovation of the 196-room hotel began in July 2003 and was completed last month. Los Angeles-based Gensler & Associates directed the hotel’s interior and exterior design. The boutique-style lobby features teak furniture and three computer docking stations. Wireless Internet service also is provided. A business center and library off of the lobby features two computers, a printer and complimentary Internet access. Each of the Courtyard by Marriott’s guestrooms include views of the scenic San Fernando Valley or Hollywood hills. Each room features a balcony with a sliding door, a dark walnut armoire, king bed, two-tier desk and queen sofa bed. Outside the hotel, on the fourth floor, a new swimming pool was constructed with an adjacent fireplace. The hotel also offers the Courtyard Café serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven meeting rooms and 15,000 square feet of total meeting space.
