NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI The Almonte Group has won approval to build a $5 million hotel in Quonset, RI. The company plans to build a 100-room Wingate Inn with an attached restaurant on 17 acres at the entrance to a new executive park in the area.

The hotel will serve business travelers, many of whom come from as far away as Europe to do business with companies here. A market study Almonte commissioned from the Pinnacle Advisory Group of Boston found that a 100-plus room hotel with about 3,000 square feet of meeting space and an attached restaurant could expect an occupancy rate of 70% by 2003.
