NEW YORK Queens Moat Houses (QMH), the UK-based hotel company with properties in the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands, is believed to be reviewing its branding strategy in Germany. The group s German portfolio currently trades under two banners: 11 hotels carry the Bass franchise Holiday Inn, while the remainder trade under the group s own Queens brand.
Following the review, there is a possibility that all 26 hotels will trade under a single brand name. The Holiday Inn franchise agreement is not due to expire until 2003; however, QMH is questioning Bass commitment to the Holiday Inn brand. (9/20/00)
