BANGKOK— Reflecting its optimism about the future of Thailands tourism industry, MBK Property and Development PLC is seeking to acquire two new hotels and a golf course this year. Suphadej Poonpipat, the companys director, said the acquisitions would double the size of MBKs hotel portfolio that currently includes the Pathumwan Princess and the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel. Later this year, MBK will open its third hotel in Krabi, the 246-room Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort, which will be managed by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. SOURCE: Bangkok Post
