PROVIDENCE, RI— The 364-room Westin Providence here is now in the hands of the Procaccianti Group, which acquired the asset from the Rhode Island Convention Authority. TPG now plans on investing in upgrades at the hotel. It will also invest about $80 million in the construction of an additional 28-story mixed-use tower with 200 guestrooms. The tower, which will be located on land adjacent to the Westin Providence, will bring the hotel’s total room count to 564. Retail shops, restaurants, structured parking and 107 luxury condominiums will also be built within the new tower.
